I go by the name of DJ COL-J. I have been DJ'ing from the age of 15 where i bought my first pair of belt drive turntables. From there I started making mixtapes every week right from secondary school right up to University. My growing collection and love for RnB and HipHop got to take DJ'ing seriously and therefore started playing at private house parties and local bars. At the time, every DJ was on the UKG and Drum n Bass side of music, I always kept my head into the world of RnB and HipHop as that is where my love for music came from. Growing out from house parties and local gigs, I decided to take a chance and initiate my talent to a wider audience. Over a 10 year period I have been blessed to perform at nightclubs including Penthouse, Embassy, Sound (No.1 Leicester Sqaure), Club Fire n Ice (Ipswich), En route (colchester), Cameos (Choice FM street team), Loom Bar, Garage / RnB Nation, Bar Rumba and IF Bar. One of my biggest achievements was being able to DJ and host at the Thurrock Festival that occurs every year @ Grays Beach near lakeside, Essex. I have been doing this 2 years running and have hosted in front of 11,000 people over a 2 day period and supported LIVE acts from the likes of X Factor's Miss Frank, Duane Lamont, Stacy Solomon, Rachel Adedaji, Alesha Bennett, Diversity, Grimey, Chico, Casso Blax and Young O. LIVE on The VU every Thursday you'll find my show entitled Thursday 4Play from 10pm till 12. The show is split into 4 sections from RnB, Hiphop, UK cuts and those seductive slow jams till the hours of midnight.
